In our English class we have been learning about Scottish Poetry. When asked who we thought would be a good leader of Scotland we thought of the Scottish leader Alex Salmond M.S.P. This is just a few paragraphs showing the reasons why Alex Salmond would make a good leader for Scotland.

Alex Salmond would make a good Scottish ambassador because he is the First Minister of Scotland. He has good experience for the job as he has led the Scottish National Party for a few years now .He has been in office since 2007 and has helped make a few big decisions for Scotland. He was born on the 31st of December 1954. He went to Linlithgow Academy and studied at St. Andrews University (Profession-Economist). He became the First Minister of Scotland on May 16th 2007. He is the 4th First Minister of Scotland. He is a part of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

As our First Minister it is his job to make decisions for Scotland e.g. he has decided against putting nuclear weapons in Scottish waters if it becomes independent in 2014. He was re-elected as the leader of the SNP’s in 2004. In 2007 he won the election 486 votes to 146 against Ewing.

As the leader of Scotland he helps to make a lot of big decisions e.g. he wants Scotland to be independent. This is an ongoing decision to which some politicians do not agree on.It is hoped that the decision will be made by the public in 2014 although there is debate about what should be asked at the polling booth’s.

These are just a few reasons why Alex Salmond would make a good Scottish Ambassador.
