Christmas Tree by Marc and Sean

We have made this article about how the Christmas Tree was brought into England.

The first Christmas tree was brought to England by Prince Albert in 1841 from Germany to Windsor Castle – he was the husband of Queen Victoria. The orignal Christmas Tree is the Fir tree but nowadays people use an artificial tree to “Save the Earth”. People decorate the Christmas Tree because a long time ago, people thought there were tree spirits. In the winter, the leaves would fall off the trees and people thought this was because the tree spirit had left the tree. People would encourage the tree spirit back into the tree by decorating it. If the tree spirit entered the tree again, the leaves would grow back in time for spring but if the tree’s leaves did not grow people, thought the trees leaves would never grow back unless the tree spirit was to enter the tree.
